Man dies after assault near Great Ocean Road, Victoria

Police are investigating after a man died in hospital following an assault at a home in Warrnambool, on the south-western coast of Victoria.

Emergency services were called to the Suzanne Crescent property just after 1.30pm yesterday.

A 57-year-old man was located with injuries, believed to have occurred on Wednesday night, and was transported to hospital where he died last night.

Police have arrested a 44-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman believed to be known to the victim.

Both the man and the woman are currently being interviewed.

Homicide Squad detectives will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
