Police launch investigation over death of elderly man in unit fire
Police are investigating a fatal fire overnight at a south-east Queensland aged care facility.
Events began when emergency services were called to the housing complex at Morayfield Road, Burpengary, in Moreton Bay at 9pm yesterday to reports of a fire in a unit.
Firefighters fought the blaze while neighbouring properties were evacuated.

When the fire was extinguished, an examination of the scene found the body, believed to be an 83-year-old male resident, who remains unaccounted for.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations into the cause of the fire and formal identification of the deceased are ongoing.
