Man denies 1990 SA outback murder

A man has denied murdering a 16-year-old girl in the South Australian outback more than two decades ago.

Nikola Novakovich, 42, pleaded not guilty to murdering Karen Williams, who was last seen in the early hours of August 4, 1990 after spending the night with friends in Coober Pedy.

He appeared via video link in the Whyalla Magistrates Court on Friday.

Novakovich will be arraigned in the Supreme Court in Adelaide on August 11.
