One dead, one fighting for life after truck and car collision in Botany

A man has died in a car crash in Botany in Sydney’s south after a BMW collided with a truck.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Foreshore road just after 11pm, but the male passenger died at the scene.

The driver of the car was treated at the scene, and has been taken to St George hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The truck driver is uninjured, but has also been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Investigations are under way into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and anyone with information or dash-cam footage is urged to contact police.

Police are ramping up their appeals for drivers to slow down this weekend, with Operation Slow Down in place for the October long weekend.
