Man charged over street stabbing in Tamworth
A man has been charged with attempted murder after repeatedly stabbing another man in Tamworth on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the 32-year-old accused visited the home of his 38-year-old victim just after 5pm when a fight broke out, spilling out onto the street.
The 32-year-old allegedly produced two knives and stabbed the other man in the chest several times.
Police were called to the home on Glen Street following multiple triple zero calls reporting a man being attacked in the street.
According to The Northern Daily Leader the man was allegedly stabbed more than 20 times.
The victim is in Tamworth hospital in a serious but stable condition, while the 32-year-old is in police custody and is due to face the local court today.
