Man charged over gunpoint robbery at Shoalhaven

A man has been arrested and charged after an alleged robbery at gunpoint in the Shoalhaven yesterday.

At 11.30am on Friday, police responded to a call of an armed robbery at a service station on Greenwell Point Road, Greenwell Point.

A man, armed with a gun, entered the store and threatened a male employee while demanding cash.

The staff member complied, and the man then fled the scene. The attendant was not harmed during the altercation.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 21-year-old man at a nearby home on Jervis Street.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.

The man was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today.
