A man will appear in a Sydney court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of a young woman who entered his car by mistake.

Police yesterday arrested a 53-year-old man at a unit complex in Castlereagh Street, Liverpool, yesterday following inquiries into the alleged sexual assault of a woman, 18, last Saturday.

It will be alleged that about 2pm, the woman mistakenly entered the vehicle of the man who was not known to her near Liverpool railway station.
