Man has assault charges upgraded to murder following death of one punch victim

A man charged after an assault on another man in a KFC shop car park in Morayfield, Moreton Bay has had his charges upgraded to murder.
Queensland police had previously charged the 32-year-old man with grievous bodily harm on a 50-year-old man following the alleged assault on Wednesday night.
After being taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, the older man passed away yesterday afternoon.
Police believe he had been punched and fell to the ground, and was further assaulted as he lay unconscious.
He died in hospital about 3pm yesterday, police have since advised.
The younger man had fronted charged Caboolture Magistrates Court earlier in the day and was charged with grievous bodily harm.
He is now due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court again on June 3 charged with murder.
