Man charged over alleged grope attack on young mum

A 40-year-old man has been charged over an alleged grope attack on a young mother at Southport on the Gold Coast.

He has also been charged with allegedly groping another woman while she was jogging on Oxley Drive in Hollywell in January last year.

The attack at Southport happened on Sunday as the victim was entering her unit complex after a morning walk.

In CCTV obtained by 9NEWS, the accused appears to touch her backside five times before she runs inside, screaming to her partner.

She claims he admitted he just couldn't help himself following the incident.

The man, from Hope Island, is understood to have handed himself into police last night.

He is due to face court on two counts of sexual assault on February 6.
