Man charged for peeping in at women's showers at public pool on NSW south coast

A man will face court next month after he was allegedly caught peering through peep holes in a wall adjoining the women's shower area at a local swimming pool in on the NSW south coast.

The peeping Tom incident has alarmed staff at the Helensburgh pool, who uncovered the numerous peep holes on Tuesday.

The 59-year-old man was charged with five counts of peep and pry.

The man has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear at before Wollongong Local Court on May 17.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said it was not clear how long the holes had been in the walls, or how long the man allegedly had been prying on women.

The holes have since been closed over, the spokeswoman said.
