Murder charge after injured Victorian man dies in hospital

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Victoria's east on Friday.

Emergency services were called to Hagenauer Street in Sale after reports two men were seriously injured about 9.15pm.

A 25-year-old Sale man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital, but later died.

Another man, a 26-year-old from Sale, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

A 30-year-old Sale man was arrested at the scene and has tonight been charged with one count of murder.

Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
