Man charged over alleged violent kidnapping in Sydney

A man has been charged over an alleged kidnapping that police claim involved a man being lured to a "dial-a-dealer" premises in western Sydney.

Strike Force Wessex was set up in March to investigate drug supply in Sydney using dial-a-dealer phones.

During the investigation, police said they found that at about midnight before the morning of Friday, January 19, a 22-year-old man was lured to a dial-a-dealer premises in Granville, where he was attacked by about six men.

He was knocked out and dumped nearby.

In May, two men were charged with being involved in the alleged kidnapping. They remain before the courts.

At about 7.30am yesterday, police arrested a 23-year-old man in Granville.

He was charged with kidnapping and drug supply offences.

Police will also allege in court the man supplied drugs at Parklea Correctional Centre.

The man was refused bail and will appear in court today.
