A 36-year-old man will appear in court next month over the death of a woman who was struck by two trucks on a pedestrian crossing on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Police say the 60-year-old died at the scene at Brookvale yesterday morning after she was struck by one truck, which failed to stop, and then became trapped under a second truck and dragged along the road.

The second driver, a 57-year-old man, stopped to help her and later aided police with their investigation.

The 36-year-old driver of the first truck was arrested at a business in Girawee yesterday afternoon and charged with failing to stop and render aid after an impact causing death and negligent driving occasioning death.

He's been bailed to appear at Manly Local Court on June 15.
