Man charged after fatal Adelaide crash

A man has been charged over a crash in Adelaide in which a pedestrian was killed.

A 63-year-old Elizabeth South man was killed when he was struck by a Holden Commodore sedan on the Philip Highway outside the Elizabeth South Shopping Centre on Saturday morning, police said. He died at the scene.

Police arrested the driver, a 42-year-old Elizabeth Vale man, at the scene.

He was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Police have asked for witnesses to come forward.

South Australia's road toll is 27, six fewer than at the same time last year.
