Man attacks police officers and workers in Melbourne crime spree

A man will face court today accused of attacking several people, including police officers, after he allegedly tried to rob a woman in Melbourne yesterday.
Police believe the 28-year-old abused several people in a shop at Bell Street, Pascoe Vale, before trying to rob the woman and assaulting her.
He then went to a nearby fast food restaurant and allegedly assaulted three workers.
An off-duty policeman tried to intervene and was also allegedly attacked. He suffered minor injuries.
Police arrived at the scene a short time later, and the man allegedly kicked an officer in the face during his arrest.
He has since been charged with 16 offences, including attempted robbery, unlawful assaults, assaults causing injury, criminal damage, assaulting police and committing indictable offences whilst on bail.
He is due to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
