Sydney man stabbed, home set alight in terrifying case of 'mistaken identity'
A Sydney man is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed multiple times and his flat set alight in a terrifying home invasion.
Warren Scott, 45, was inside his granny flat on Ringrose Avenue in Greystanes about 11pm on Saturday when three men allegedly broke in, assaulted him and set the flat alight.
Mr Scott was stabbed several times during the ordeal, which police believe was a case of mistaken identity.

Mr Scott's neighbours rushed to his aid, calling emergency services as the three men fled.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The flat was badly burnt and his outdoor porch bore the bloodstains of the ordeal.
A crime scene has been established at the home and investigations are underway.
