Man faces court over cabbie bashing

A man repeatedly kicked a taxi driver in the head in a late-night attack at a Melbourne service station, a court has heard.
The 36-year-old cab driver suffered bruises and abrasions after being bashed as he refuelled his car at Spotswood in the early hours of Sunday.
Stewart Siwek, 37, faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday, on charges of criminal assault, reckless conduct endangering life and criminal damage.

Charge sheets tendered to the court allege Siwek, of Spotswood, kicked the driver to the head as he lay on the ground.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded to reappear on June 17.
