A man has been charged with murder after a 64-year-old woman, believed to be a family member, was found dead in her house in Victoria.
Police were called to the house on Pickings Road at Safety Beach, Mornington Peninsula, about 1.30pm after a triple zero call believed to have been made by the woman's husband.
They discovered the victim's body lying face down in a bedroom with severe head injuries from what appeared to be blunt trauma.
Homicide detectives arrested 35-year-old Safety Beach man Adam Guy at the residence.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court later today.
Police are now investigating the movements of a black Alfa Romeo, believed to have been driven by the accused in the hours preceding the victim's death.
