Man charged with murder following fatal stabbing in rural South Australia

A man has been charged with murder over the stabbing death of another man in South Australia's rural Riverland region.

Authorities were called to Nookamka Terrace in Barmera just after 8.30pm yesterday after receiving reports of a street fight.

Police discovered a man lying on the ground with stab wounds to his abdomen.

Paramedics work to resuscitate the injured man, but he died at the scene.

A second man was arrested at a nearby home in connection to the stabbing. He has been charged with murder and will face court later today.

The two men were known to each other and police are not treating the attack as random.

Police are investigating the incident with the help of the Major Crime unit.
