Man arrested over explosion at Melbourne strip club
The explosion gutted the club. (9NEWS)
A man has been arrested over an explosion and fire that destroyed a Melbourne strip club.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man around 11am today in Mason Way at Berwick, after fire gutted the Kitten club in Caulfield South on Tuesday.
Detectives are currently searching the property while he is interviewed in relation to the explosion.
An ongoing feud between bikies and the security industry is believed to be behind the incident that destroyed the strip club.
Police believe bikies are trying to muscle back in on security contracts they lost during an internal split 18 months ago.
Since then, seven non-fatal shootings and yesterday’s explosion at the strip club in Caulfield South have escalated the conflict.
