Man arrested over 2009 Charleville cold case murder of Lainie Coldwell

A man has been arrested over the murder of a woman whose body was found under a tree in Charleville six years ago.
Lainie Coldwell’s body was found at the base of a large tree on Walter Street on August 23, 2009. She had suffered a severe head injury.
The Homicide Investigation Unit’s Cold Case team had reviewed the case, and detectives today arrested a 42-year-old man over the murder.
He has also been charged with fraud offences relating to insurance and superannuation claims.
Police have also appealed for anyone with further information about the death to come forward.
