Man arrested following sexual assault in Sydney CBD

A man has been arrested after sexually assaulting a woman in Sydney’s CBD earlier this week.

Police said a 27-year-old man made sexually offensive remarks to a woman he had been following on George Street at around 3pm on Wednesday.

It’s alleged the man made threats to members of the public when he was confronted.

Police said the man was involved in another incident, where he committed an act of indecency next to a woman.

It’s alleged the man sat next to a woman who was sunbathing in Alfred Park, Surry Hills, on January 8 at about 1.50 pm, when the act was committed.

The 27-year-old was arrested at Central Station yesterday, following police inquiries.

He was charged with committing an act of indecency, assault and offensive conduct.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear at Parramatta bail court today.
