Man in police custody after woman found dead inside Forbes home

A man is in custody after a woman was found dead inside a home in Forbes, in north-west New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to the Union Street home about 6.15am and found a 28-year-old man.

He was arrested and taken to Forbes Police Station, where he is assisting police with their inquiries.

Officers returned to the property a short time later and found the body of a 59-year-old woman.

Her death is being treated as suspicious.
