Man charged after woman stabbed in stomach

A man has been charged after a woman was stabbed in what police say was a domestic dispute in inner Sydney.

The 33-year-old is in a stable condition at St Vincent's Hospital after suffering a wound to her abdomen during an altercation at an address in Walker Street in Redfern just after 1.30am.

A 46-year-old man was arrested and taken to Redfern Police Station where he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear in court today.
