Man arrested after dramatic interstate police pursuit

A man has been arrested on the Gold Coast after a dramatic cross-border police chase which began in New South Wales.
It is believed officers began following the red Hyundai from Byron Bay, and called Pol Air in for assistance after the car allegedly refused to stop.

Officers then used road spikes to deter the vehicle before the driver stopped and fled on foot. He was arrested in Currumbin, south of the Gold Coast.
A NSW Police spokesman said the man was in custody.
