Man released after pedestrian injured in Melbourne hit-and-run
A man has been released pending further questioning after a 57-year-old man was ploughed down in an alleged hit-and-run in Melbourne's north last night.
The man, from Preston, was crossing a road at the intersection of Spring and Edwardes streets in Reservoir when he was allegedly struck by a car about 9.50pm.
It's alleged the driver then drove off, but returned 30 minutes later.

Protective Services Officers witnessed the incident and rushed to help the man.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police earlier arrested and interviewed a 26-year-old Thomastown man over the alleged hit and run.
He was released pending further enquiries.
Police are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
