Man arrested after alleged assault at hotel in Ramsgate, south Sydney

A man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 38-year-old man at a hotel in Sydney’s south overnight.
Police said the 52-year-old placed the man in a headlock at The Intersection Tavern in Ramsgate, before allegedly punching him several times.
The younger man fell to the ground unconscious, and the offender allegedly fled the scene.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital.
He remains in a serious but stable condition.
The alleged offender was arrested around 2am, and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Nobody else was injured during the incident.
