Man arrested after 50km police pursuit through Sydney’s south-west

A man driving a stolen vehicle has been arrested after a 50km police pursuit and an alleged attempted carjacking in Sydney’s south-west today.

Police began pursuing the allegedly stolen Hyundai in Penrith shortly after 2.20pm.

The chase was later called off, but officers were able to surround the vehicle at a shopping centre on Camden Valley Way at Narellan.

The car’s lone male occupant of allegedly then attempted to carjack two vehicles before running into a nearby restaurant.

He was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station for questioning.
