Men sought after alleged attempted robbery in Melbourne

Three men are sought after a man was allegedly attacked for a necklace in Melbourne.

Police were told a man and his friend were approached by three unknown men in Batman Park at about 1pm on July 24.

One of the men grabbed the alleged victim's necklace and threatened to hit him if he didn't hand it over.

The alleged victim refused and the man did hit him, breaking the necklace.

The alleged victim and his friend fled.

The trio who carried out the alleged attempted robbery were last seen walking east along Flinders St.

Investigators have now released images of three men they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.

The first man is believed to be Caucasian in appearance, about 20 to 25 years old, of average height and build, with a light-brown mullet.

He was seen wearing a green baseball cap, a gold puffer jacket, torn jeans, and red runners.

The second male is believed to be Caucasian in appearance, about 20 to 25 years old, of average height and build, with short dark hair.

He was seen wearing a grey Calvin Klein hooded jumper, a black puffer jacket, tan shorts, and black runners.

The third male is believed to be Caucasian in appearance and about 30 years old, of average height and skinny build, with medium length brown hair.

He was seen wearing a black FILA jumper, black Nike tracksuit pants and black and white Nike runners.
