Less than 24 hours after he was released on bail, further charges have been laid against a man accused of sexually assaulting a three-year old girl at Perisher Valley, in the NSW Snowy Mountains.

David Ewen, 50, walked free from Silverwater jail last night, only to again be arrested by detectives early this morning at Roseville, on Sydney’s leafy North Shore.

9NEWS understands the latest allegations date back to August 2008 and involve a ten-year old girl.

The matter was initially reported to authorities, but the family decided not to press charges - a decision which they have since recanted.

The developments come after extensive investigations by the Child Abuse Squad and NSW Police, after they raised concerns there may have been more alleged victims.

On Friday the father-of-three was questioned by detectives at Chatswood police station, before being charged with one count of aggravated indecent assault.

His estranged wife and son also spoke briefly to detectives, before leaving separately.

Mr Ewen avoided answering 9NEWS' questions as he climbed into a waiting car driven by his father.

The Roseville resident is already facing a string of charges over the alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old girl during the July school holidays inside Chalet Sonnenhof, a popular holiday lodge for families at Perisher Valley.

Mr Ewen was granted bail at the NSW Supreme Court yesterday.

As part of his strict conditions, he is not to enter the Snowy Mountains region, not to be in the presence of any children aged 16 and under and report daily to police.

The matter will resume before Queanbeyan Local Court on October 6.
