Major parties square off over power sell off as NSW election looms

Six weeks out from the NSW election, leaders of both major parties were out unofficially campaigning in Sydney today.

While many policies are yet to be announced, the selloff of the state’s electricity assets is set to become a major point of contention between Labor and the NSW Government.

NSW Premier Mike Baird has already publically admitted the Federal leadership woes could impact on his re-election chances.

Today Opposition Leader Luke Foley drew on some of those unfavourable comparisons.

“Tony Abbott and Mike Baird are peas in a pod,” the Labor leader said.

“Both stand for selling off our essential assets and taking an axe to education and health.”

Voters head to the polls at the end of March.
