Brisbane bus commuters have been urged to plan ahead as major route and timetabling changes take effect from today.

More than 200 services have been altered to adjust to changing road conditions, including closures caused by the start of work on the $3 billion Queen's Wharf integrated resort and casino development.

There will be changes to where buses stop and leave within the CBD, as well as bus stop alterations at the Garden City Interchange, Holland Park and Sherwood.

Translink says the frequency of services will remain the same and most involve changes of six minutes, while connections to other services have been maintained where possible.

The timetable changes follow understaffing issues affecting south-east Queensland train services.

More details about the timetable changes are available via TransLink.
