Anger erupts at sentence for deadly crash

The families of two young people killed in a car crash have erupted in court after the verdict against the driver was handed down.

Sisters Desiree and Madison Woods, and their friend Elijah Johns, were on a joyride in a P-plate driver's V8 Clubsport in Maddington in Perth's south-east.

The road was wet, and the teenage driver lost control doing a burnout.

The teen driver and Desiree survived the crash, but Madison and Elijah were killed.

"I was screaming at (the driver) to stop, he wouldn't stop," Desiree said.

The driver was sentenced to four years behind bars, and will be eligible for parole after two.

"I'll never ever get to see my sister again and that hurts," Desiree said.

"I walked out of court today and I couldn't breathe."

The court was told the driver made a "silly impulse decision" because he "wanted to impress".

He "didn't appreciate how powerful the vehicle was".

The court heard the driver suffered regular nightmares and was living with significant guilt.
