Peak hour chaos after multiple accidents block major Sydney roads

The M4 western Sydney motorway is backed up with traffic after a series of accidents occurred within the hour during the peak hour commute.

A motorbike and truck have crashed on the M4 ramp near Parramatta Road at Concord.

The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

NSW Ambulance spokesperson Kay Armstrong said the scene was challenging due to the amount of traffic.

"Paramedics worked to stabilise the patient before he was taken to hospital with a medical team on board.

"Traffic incidents involving motorcycles can result in very serious injuries and this is a timely reminder for everyone to take care on the roads."

There are long delays for traffic in both directions but those heading west will be impacted most.

Westbound Parramatta Road traffic is backed up around two kilometres with the onramp to the M4 from Parramatta Rd at Concord closed, impacting anyone trying to head west to areas like Auburn, Granville, or Parramatta from the inner west.

A small two car crash on the M4 westbound at Auburn is adding to delays, with two of the five lanes closed.

Delays exceeding five kilometres of traffic are occurring down near Homebush Bay Drive at Olympic Park.

A third crash in the area involving a minor two car crash on Parramatta Rd at Lidcombe is also impacting traffic in both directions.
