Mysterious Los Angeles 'Jetpack Man' may have actually been a balloon
A mysterious 'Jetpack Man' that was seen flying in the Los Angeles sky may have actually been a balloon.
The FBI launched an investigation after pilots reported spotting the man above LAX airport in the city last year.
Helicopter footage from local police reportedly shows a life-sized balloon of Jack Skellington from the Tim Burton film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Several pilots reported seeing a jetpack flying near the airport in the past 12 months.
"So far, none of these sightings have been verified," a Federal Aviation Authority spokesperson told the BBC.
"One working theory is that pilots might have seen balloons."
A Boeing 747 pilot "reported seeing an object that might have resembled a jetpack" in July.

It was about 24 kilometres east of the airport and flying at an elevation of about 5000 feet.
Air traffic controllers alerted pilots in the area out of "an abundance of caution".
In October last year, a China Airlines crew saw a person in a jetpack flying at about 6000 feet.
Meanwhile, in August last year, two commercial airline planes reported seeing a person with a jetpack, including an American Airlines crew who said the person flew within 30 yards of them.
