Look to the independents, Hanson says

Pauline Hanson isn't surprised voters are turning away from the two major parties.

In fact, she thinks a 15 per cent vote of support for independents in the latest Newspoll is very conservative.

"What I'm picking up is very, very strongly, people are turning away from the major political parties," the Senate candidate told the Seven Network on Monday.

Broadcaster Derryn Hinch, who has formed his own political party and is running for a Victorian Senate seat, says it could be described as the "Shakespearean election".

"People are saying a pox on both your houses," he said.
