Logie-winning actor played ‘dress-ups’ with alleged molestation victims

Melbourne actor Jeremy Kewley has been charged with more than 100 counts of molesting boys, allegedly targeting more than 12 victims in one month.

The court heard allegations the actor advertised acting auditions to young boys and then filmed himself touching them in role play dress-ups.

A smiling Kewley walked free on bail today after the court heard of his alleged sexual acts.

The Brighton-based actor is well-known for stints in Stingers, Blue Heelers and most recently Underbelly: Fat Tony & Co.

Detectives today charged the 54-year-old with 103 indecent acts with a child under sixteen and two charges of possessing child pornography.

The prosecution alleges that in 2011, he enticed boys to his home by advertising auditions for young males to play roles in a film.

But when they arrived, he would touch them inappropriately and kiss them on the head, face and lips.

The court heard the accused actor filmed his alleged offences and joined his victims in a role play after dressing them in lycra.

At least 27 boys responded to the callout. Kewley allegedly molested more than a dozen.

Logie award-winner Kewley's career began in the 1970s, soon becoming a familiar face in Australian show business.

The magistrate granted Kewley bail with the conditions that he surrender his passport, not leave the state of Victoria and not have any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18.

He will reappear in court on March 13 next year.
