'You smug son of a bitch': Liz Hayes takes aim at comedian Hamish Blake in hilarious 60 Minutes promo parody

In what Hamish Blake has labelled a 'career highlight', 60 Minutes journalist Liz Hayes has generously agreed to take part in a fake promo for his upcoming interview. And social media is loving it.

The comedian and radio host posted the video to Instagram this afternoon, explaining how he asked Hayes if she would mind recording the promo he has "always dreamed of seeing on 60 Minutes".

"Because she is a legend, she said yes," he wrote.

The short video begins with the famous 60 Minutes ticking stopwatch before Hayes addresses her subject.

"Hamish Blake, you smug son of a bitch," Hayes begins, as Blake smiles back wryly.

"You've got me trapped."

"That's what happens when you play with the big boys, Lizzie," Blake replies, as Hayes holds her composure.

Blake then mimes smoking a cigar, as the promo concludes in dramatic fashion.

Within two hours the video notched up almost 11,000 likes and more than 1000 comments, as his followers raced to tag their friends to show them the hilarious clip.

Fans of Hamish Blake can tune in for the full interview on 60 Minutes this Sunday at 8.30pm on Channel 9.
