Owners of Martin Place's Lindt café ponder its future after terror siege

Lindt will soon make a decision on whether to reopen its Martin Place café following the December hostage drama.

Tradespeople will enter the chocolate cafe this week — which has been boarded up since the terror attack — to assess interior layout and design options, News Corp reports.

The café's Swiss-based owner will then consider quotes for refitting the premises and decide whether to reopen the cafe and in what format.

The building's owner is also involved in the discussions.

One reported option is to sublet the building or use it for another purpose.

Some office workers who work nearby reportedly have voiced their support for reopening Lindt café just as it stood before the siege.
