Two escape with minor injuries after light plane crash south of Gympie

Two men have escaped relatively unscathed from a light plane crash on a private airstrip near Gympie.

The aircraft was attempting to land when it clipped a fence and crashed into a side of a creek at the start of the runway, off Melawondi Road.

Paramedics said two men aged in their 60s were on board the plane and suffered minor injuries.

They have been taken to Gympie Hospital.
