Motorcyclist critical after crash in Sydney's Inner West

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after colliding with a car in Sydney's Inner West.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Parramatta Road and Day Street, Lidcombe just after 2pm.
The rider was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and the driver is assisting police with their investigation.
Parramatta Road has been closed westbound and traffic is heavy in both directions, with motorists warned to expect delays.
Diversions are in place for westbound traffic with drivers advised to use John Street, Boorea Street and St Hilliers Road as alternatives.
Heavy vehicles should use Centenary Drive, the Hume Highway, Stacey Street, Rookwood Road Olympic Drive and St Hilliers Road to re-join Parramatta Road.
