Reports Senator Glenn Lazarus lifted his party's constitution from Xenophon

Independent senator Glenn Lazarus copied almost word for word another political party's constitution.

The Glenn Lazarus team's central document is a lift of South Australian senator Nick Xenophon's party constitution, however Mr Xenophon has said he is "relaxed and comfortable" over the move.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," Mr Xenophon told the Courier Mail.

Senator Lazarus claims the constitution was not copied, but rather was a shared document developed by a number of micro parties.

Senator Xenophon reportedly denied the claim.
