Lambie seeks Senate dairy inquiry
AAP
Crossbench senator Jacqui Lambie has thrown her support behind an inquiry into the dairy industry.
Dairy producers have been devastated by decisions by Murray Goulburn and Fonterra to cut milk prices and claw back the difference from farmers.
Senator Lambie told parliament on Tuesday the referral of the issue to the Australia Competition and Consumer Commission was a "sly way of covering up wrongdoings" and it must be addressed by a public inquiry during which company executives could be questioned.
