Lambie seeks investigation of her claims

Independent senator Jacqui Lambie has asked for an investigation into whether she's inadvertently had her snout in the entitlements trough.

Senator Lambie hopes everything will be above board after asking the Finance Department to check through her claims to make sure she hasn't had her "snout in the pig's trough".

She told ABC TV on Monday that while chartering helicopters to political fundraisers was a clear abuse of the system, there should be some leeway for politicians seeing their children.
