The Queensland health minister has denied his staff voted repeatedly to have the name of Lady Cilento Children's Hospital changed.

Steven Miles is under pressure to reveal IP address data from an online survey used to justify the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital name change.

9News understands some of the IP addresses used to respond multiple times are located within Queensland ministerial offices.

Mr Miles, who fronted media at Gold Coast University Hospital this morning, did not reveal anything further and the government has resisted calls from 9News to release the full, unredacted IP address data.

Mr Miles yesterday insisted he was not misleading the parliament in September when he said "and so we consulted the public and more than two-thirds of the public, or roughly two-thirds of the public said they supported a name change".

David Briggs, managing director of independent polling company Galaxy, has cast doubt on the credibility of the anonymous online survey, saying it should not have been used to justify a significant decision such as the hospital name change.

Prior to the survey, the health minister received a petition from almost 1000 doctors requesting the hospital's name be changed.

At the time, it was reported parents were confused by the name and mistakenly believed it to be a private facility.

However the family of Lady Phyllis Cilento believe some of the doctors involved were engaged in a smear campaign against the medical practitioner and author.

The government has begun changing the branding of the hospital from the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital as it was unveiled in 2014 by the Newman government, to the Queensland Children's Hospital.
