Labor would oppose free tacos: Canavan

If Tony Abbott offered everyone free tacos Labor would oppose it, Nationals senator Matt Canavan has told parliament.

Speaking on minor changes to the commonwealth's workers compensation scheme, Senator Canavan cited The Lego Movie's evil character Lord Business who coined "free taco Tuesday", likening him to the prime minister to vent his frustration over Labor's opposition to several bills.

"If we offered free tacos, (Labor) would oppose it because it's not about what's in the tacos, it's because the taco is being offered by someone called Tony Abbott," he told the Senate on Thursday.
