Labor to support TV, radio licence fee cut
AAP
Labor has signalled it will support government legislation reducing licensing fees for commercial television and radio stations by 25 per cent.
The legislation, which is before the parliament, would lower TV licensing fees from 4.5 per cent of a broadcaster's gross revenue, at a cost to government revenue of $163 million.
The measure, announced in the 2016 Budget, also includes provisions to establish rebates for radio licensing fees.
