Labor seeks answers on Ford worker jobs

Labor has challenged the Turnbull government to unveil a plan to help redundant Ford workers find new jobs.

Bill Shorten told parliament on Monday the prime minister had not expressed sympathy for the unemployed workers after the closure of Ford's car production at two Victorian plants.

Malcolm Turnbull said Friday's closure was a "very sad day" for Ford workers, but the decision to stop production had been made under the Gillard Labor government despite Ford accessing $300 million of taxpayer funding between 2011 and 2015.
