AAP
Labor backbencher Jill Hall is quitting federal politics at the next election to spend more time with her family.
Ms Hall has represented the NSW seat of Shortland since 1998.
She nominated being in parliament during the apology to the stolen generations and securing the Hunter region as a national disability insurance scheme trial site as political highlights of her career.
