Labor MP calls for increase to foreign aid

The Turnbull government has failed to lead when it comes to its international aid program, parliament has been told.
Labor MP Graham Perrett moved a motion in parliament on Monday calling on the government to consider increasing its spending on foreign aid.
"For Australia to stay as a strong middle power we cannot shrink in the face of global challenges, especially in our own backyard," he said.
